Recess
The kindergarten will be having an outside recess during the school day.
Labeling
Please label all clothing, backpacks, lunch boxes and personal items. In the event that something gets lost, the lost and found is located in the back of the APR near the nurse’s office.
Folders
Please take the time to look in your child's folder each day. All work should be removed from the folder each day unless otherwise noted.
Homework
After much research this summer, we are trying something new. Homework will only consist of work that your student did not finish during the school day. There will be no formally assigned homework this year.Research has been unable to prove that homework improves student performance. Rather, I ask that you spend your evening doing things that are proven to correltate with student success. Eat dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.Reading our take home books will be the only requirement nightly. :)
Change in Pickup
You have each been given a form to fill out regarding how your child should be dismissed each day. In the event of a change, please send me a note and I will be happy to amend your form. For safety concerns, I cannot release your child to a person without written permission from you.Wish List
The following is a list of supplies that are used throughout the school year. If you are interested in donating any of the following items to our classroom please send them to school with your child. Thank you!
-Play-Doh (I put fresh and clean play-doh out frequently)
-Side walk chalk for the playground
- Ziploc bags (all sizes)
- Cotton balls
-Plastic spoons, cups, straws (you'd be amazed at how many times they do not make it into the snack and lunch bags!)
