Please provide a healthy snack for your child.  S/he will eat snack approximately 10:00 am everyday.  Please make sure to send in spoons, straws (if needed) and containers that your child can open by him/herself.  Although I am always available to help, this provides your child with the thrill of independence.  It is also important that you pack your child’s lunch and snack SEPARATELY.  Some children end up eating all of their food at snack time and have nothing to eat for lunch.
All snacks should be peanut and nut free.  We do not allow any snacks in the classroom containing those ingredients.

Lunch and recess will be held in the APR at 12:30.  Lunch will be eaten first with an indoor recess to follow. Students SHOULD NOT bring in their own toys for recess.
School lunches (except pizza) must be ordered in advance.  Pizza will be available each Friday and is paid for on that day.  Please have your child bring their pizza money (exact amount) each Friday that they are ordering pizza.  More information to follow .

The kindergarten will be having an outside recess during the school day.

Please label all clothing, backpacks, lunch boxes and personal items.  In the event that something gets lost, the lost and found is located in the back of the APR near the nurse’s office.

Please take the time to look in your child's folder each day.  All work should be removed from the folder each day unless otherwise noted.

After much research this summer, we are trying something new.  Homework will only consist of work that your student did not finish during the school day.  There will be no formally assigned homework this year.
Research has been unable to prove that homework improves student performance.  Rather, I ask that you spend your evening doing things that are proven to correltate with student success.  Eat dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.
Reading our take home books will be the only requirement nightly.  :)

Birthdays are such a special time in a child's life.  Although you may not bring in a treat, I encourage you to share your child's favorite story with the class.
We will celebrate all summer birthdays in June.

    Change in Pickup
You have each been given a form to fill out regarding how your child should be dismissed each day.  In the event of a change, please send me a note and I will be happy to amend your form.  For safety concerns, I cannot release your child to a person without written permission from you.
    Wish List

The following is a list of supplies that are used throughout the school year. If you are interested in donating any of the following items to our classroom please send them to school with your child. Thank you!
