Norwood Public School
    Welcome to Mrs.Strickland's
    Kindergarten Class!

Below you will find a few helpful hints to ease your transition into Norwood Public School:

     Nut Free Sign
Please provide a healthy snack for your child.  S/he will eat snack at approximately 10:00 every day.  Please make sure to send in spoons, straws, and containers that your child can open by him/herself.  Although I am always available to help, this provides your child with the thrill of independence.  It is also important that you pack your child's lunch and snack SEPARATELY.  Some children end up eating all of their food at snack time and have nothing to eat for lunch!
All snacks should be peanut and nut free.  We do not allow any snacks in the classroom containing nuts!!
Lunch and recess will be held in the APR at 12:30.  Lunch will be eaten first with an indoor recess to follow.  Students SHOULD NOT bring in their own toys for recess. In the event that you forget to send in lunch with your child, please deliver it to the school by 11:00.
School lunches (except pizza on Fridays) must be ordered in advance.  Pizza will be available each Friday and can be paid for on that day  Please have your child bring their pizza money (exact amount) each Friday if they would like to purchase it.  Money should be placed in the pizza pocket inside their Norwood folder.
The Kindergarten will be having an outside recess during the school day.
Please label all clothing, backpacks, lunch boxes and personal items.  In the event that something gets lost, the lost and found is located in the back of the APR near the nurse's office.
Please take the time to look in your child's Homework folder each day.  All work should be removed from the folder daily unless otherwise noted.

Birthdays are such a special time in a child's life.  I welcome you to come to school to celebrate your child's birthday with the class.  Although you may not bring in a treat, I encourage you to share your child's favorite story.  We will celebrate all summer birthdays in June.
    Change in Pickup
I have forms from each child regarding your child's daily dismissal. In the event of a change, please send me a note and I will be happy to amend your form.  I cannot release your child to a person without written permission from you.  If it is a last minute change, please call the front office and they will get in touch with me, since I may not be able to access my email during the busy school day.

    Wish List

The following is a list of items we would love to have in the classroom!  If you would like to donate any of these, please send in with your child.  Thank you!!
