Dear Parents/Guardians:

I hope that this letter finds you and your family safe and well. I am both elated and honored to work with Norwood’s students, teachers, and parents. It is my goal to provide leadership that will cultivate a school environment that is academically stimulating and promotes further exploration for new ideas and experiential learning opportunities.

I have always believed that one of the most critical attributes of education is building strong relationships with students, teachers, and families. Instruction is most effective when learners feel valued and connected to the people around them. The central element of learning, therefore, is developing authentic relationships. I am looking forward to spending meaningful time in our classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, on the playing field, and at the many special events that we will coordinate together.

Elementary education has always been a passion of mine as it provides students with the building blocks for their educational endeavors and beyond. The elementary level is an action-packed time, full of learning and development. During this time, children learn to read and transition to reading to learn. They learn to understand math operations, learn to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and begin to understand fractions, and units of measurement. Additionally, students mature emotionally and physically, grow more independent, and build a foundation for success. Moreover, these are magical years where we as educators can build and instill an array of important skills that last a lifetime.

I look forward to meeting each of you and partnering in the educational process.

Sincerely,

Dr. Harold Abraham
